...it came, blew up a storm and left...
Check out what's been happening day by day on Squall News on the sidebar.
A Summer Squall was a huge success with thousands of people enjoying the entertainment and events provided over the Bank Holiday weekend. Here's just some of the comments we've been receiving from people who clearly enjoyed themselves.
"...many congratulations for the marvellous events over the August Bank Holiday! I did not get to everything but was kept busy running hither and yon, from one presentation to another."
"Such a fantastic weekend, something for everyone."
"Couldn't make it all, but studio opens (despite monsoon) were a real success..."
Fortunately, the sun shone on both Saturday and Monday with only Sunday suffering a little due to the massive downpour. However, it clearly added to the entertainment.
"Had a great time at A Summer Squall this weekend. Particular highlight was the summer "squall" that hit right on the 3.30 pm start of Death in Ramsgate aboard the Cervia - very authentic and we were all soaked! Kids loved seeing the shows Mouse in the House and the New Model Theatre. Roll on "A Summer Squall 2!"
Luckily I live in Ramsgate and can already look forward to planning my time carefully for next year. You are going to repeat it, aren't you!?"

Why A Summer Squall in Ramsgate?
Well, a squall is a wind, a gust, a disturbance, a commotion. It is something blowing strongly for a brief period, it’s sudden, it’s loud, it’s a rumpus. It is a word that is totally part of the sailing traditions and maritime history of the town and it fits our summer burst of artistic energy, creativity, noise and commotion as planned!
What can you expect?
A moving, kinetic explosion of art and noise will be moving around the town attracting attention wherever it goes Visit the smallest cinema in the UK, on wheels and powered by the sun! Take part in a percussion workshop, a junk upcycling workshop or enter your work in our Open Art Exhibition Creative writing competition Performances aboard the Steam Tug 'Cervia' The very best in contemporary visual theatre , a cracking show that's hilariously funny, inventive and with an amazing set Two themed markets: Made in Thanet and Green FuturesLots more planned - watch this space or contact us if you would like to be involved.
